Garbage & Recycling Schedule

Tenafly Recycling and Convenience Center (TRCC)

The Borough operates the Tenafly Recycling and Convenience Center located at 153 Grove Street (formerly the Transfer Station) for use by Tenafly residents only with a valid Recycling Center decal.

Recycling Pick-up

Commingled recycling consists of materials such as glass containers and bottles, aluminum cans, plastic containers (Number 1, Number 2 and Number 5), steel and tin cans, jars, plastic milk containers, and hard rigid plastics.

Garbage Pick-up

Household garbage will be collected by private contractor, Waste Industries, from the rear or side yard between 6 am and 4 pm except designated holidays.

Preservation & Protection of Trees

Generally, trees located along municipal streets and rights-of-way are maintained by the Department of Public Works and may not be removed without the consent of the Borough of Tenafly.

Sewer Stoppages

The owner/occupants of premises in the Borough shall be responsible for proper maintenance and repair of all house sewer connections between the dwelling and the main sanitary sewer line.

Special Collection of Bulky Waste

Residents may call the contractor, Waste Industries, directly at 201-567-3100 to schedule a special collection of bulky waste. There is a fee for this service.
