POLICE DEPARTMENT-SUBSTITUTE CROSSING GUARD

The Borough of Tenafly (Bergen County) is seeking a qualified and experienced full-time Assistant Treasurer reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The Borough has a population of 15.5 thousand and an operating Budget of $38 million and a pool utility.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to preparation of bank reconciliations, fund transfers, month-end revenue reporting, recording appropriations, miscellaneous journal entries, and tracking and processing non-check payments as approved by the CFO via wire transfer for the Board of Education, County and the Depository Trust. DCA Certified Municipal Finance Officer Certification or near completion of attainment is preferred but not required. In lieu of Certification, 3+ years of municipal finance experience with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field is required.

Candidates must be proficient in Edmunds and Microsoft Office, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be organized, detail-oriented and a team player. SUMMER CAMP COUNSELOR - RECREATION DEPARTMENT

Do you love helping kids learn, play, and grow in a safe, fun environment?  Tenafly's Recreation Department is hiring energetic, responsible, and enthusiastic individuals to join our Summer Camp team as Camp Counselors.  
Key Responsibilities: Lead, supervise, and engage campers in daily activities, games, crafts, sports, and field trips. Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive camp atmosphere for all participants. Assist with program planning, setup, and cleanup of activities and spaces. Enforce camp rules, safety protocols, and emergency procedures. Support campers with supervision, conflict resolution, and self-regulation. Communicate effectively with campers, parents/guardians, and fellow staff. Maintain camper attendance records and report incidents or needs to supervisors. Other camp related duties if necessary.
Qualifications: Must be at least 14 years old; 18+ preferred for lead roles. Previous experience with children in a camp, school, or extracurricular setting is a plus. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Positive attitude, reliability, and strong communication skills. Patience, creativity, and a passion for teamwork. Basic First Aid . Must pass background check and clearances as required.
Schedule: Summer camp operates on weekdays during the summer break from June 22, 2026 to July 31, 2026, Monday - Friday from 8:45am to 3:15pm. Hours subject to change due to trips. Borough of Tenafly-Municipal Pool is looking for Part-Time, seasonal, temporary certified summer lifeguards from May 24 th (Memorial Day) to September 1st (Labor Day) for our new Municipal Pool located in Tenafly, NJ.
Job Responsibilities: Supervise pool occupancy, check in guests and verify pool passes, must be able to address pool violations and violators, administer swim lessons, closely monitoring activities related to the pool area and identify any safety issues, administer first aid in the event of injury or emergency, rescue swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administer CPR, if necessary.

The Borough of Tenafly is seeking a candidate for 25 hours/per week, in a flexible work schedule. Under direction performs varied types of field and office work involved in enforcing residential and commercial compliance with various municipal ordinances. A candidate must be able to read and write English and have good verbal skills, a valid Driver's License, basic computer skills, and the ability to provide excellent customer service. Knowledge of Mitchell Humphrey code enforcement program is preferred. Prior municipal experience desired. Must be available for evening and weekend hours. Additional licenses recognized by the State may be beneficial.
